Margaritaville at Pier Park rocks Panama City Beach

Last night we fought the crowd to get a table at Margaritaville in Pier Park. Wow, that place is cool! They took a vintage 28+ foot wooden boat, cut it up and brought it inside the restaurant! (either that or they built the equivalent structure inside the place. The whole thing is made to look like ships, boats, sails, teak & stainless rails. I was just very impressed with the whole thing. That said, it was a total zoo at the same time. People on stilts walking around making balloon hats were only upstaged by the airplane on the ceiling. When the song “margaritaville” comes on, the belly of the plane opens and a mirrored disco ball drops from the plane along with tons of smoke. Everyone (including the stilt-people) starts singing “wastin’ away again in margaritaville”. Then, part way thru the song, a salt shaker drops from inside the disco ball. All I can say is: Jimmy is makin’ some serious money on this place. Not sure how many they have nationally, but it’s a fun family concept.

God’s Looking Down on Panama City Beach

It won’t take you very long to figure out that I’m an absolute “Jesus Freak”! I’ve been a born again Christian for almost 6 years. Part of drinking that coolaid is that you have a tendency to “see God” in everything (especially when you first adopt a God-centered world view). Then, over time, you start to see more clearly what God’s really about — you stop looking so intently at the silly little things that He may or may not be doing around you, and you focus on the BIG rocks that He’s moving in your life, etc.
But, when you see a sky like this (if you truly believe) you can’t help but be reminded of His Greatness!

Vacation in Panama City Beach is Awesome!

I’m here this week in Panama City Beach. We had originally planned to stay at Aqua, but we ran into some “issues” over there & decided to move. The place we’re actually staying is awesome! I’ll write about the new place a bit later this week. I’m also going to share some more details about our experience down at Aqua. Even though I’m certainly NOT a local real estate expert here, I’m going to write about my experiences here this week.
